Tag Rugby Festival
Today we took 2 tag rugby teams to Cheltenham Tigers RFC to take part in a festival organised by Gloucester Rugby’s Community Department.
Team 1 (Y3/4) represented New Zealand and Team 2 (Y5/6) represented Samoa.
Our teams represented Ashchurch brilliantly, demonstrating the core rugby values of Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline and Sportsmanship.
It took Ruby Class a little while to warm up but as the afternoon progressed they grew into the games and played some excellent rugby. What was so impressive was how they kept giving 100% right to the end, even when the results weren’t going their way.
Sapphire Class played some amazing rugby and were unbeaten in the 4 pool games. It really was a joy to watch: some fantastic individual performances and great team work. Unfortunately they were beaten in the semi final by Holy Apostles C of E but this didn’t detract from the great standard of rugby played.
It’s been a fantastic term of tag rugby and we are very grateful to community coach Jack Petelo and all at Gloucester Rugby for working with us this term.
